George JOWSEY was born 1901 in Yorkshire, UK. He died 1964. He was the son of Henry Marflitt JOWSEY and Ada Frances ADAMS.

We understand that George left home at 16 on a sailing ship bound for America
then bummed his way to Canada.
We know that he "emigrated" from New Zealand to Canada arriving in Halifax.
Nova Scotia. 16 March 1929 n the White Star Dominion Line ship "Megantic" but
don't know how long he stayed there. He and Nora were married the previous
year but her name doesn't appear in the Immigration Records for 1925-1935.
This was a time of much unemployment - perhaps George was looking at the
possibilty of better prospects in Canada.
