The marriage bond was signed on 5 Oct 1765, with Francis Temple, butcher as
bondsman. William signed as "William Jowsey". Ages were given as William 26
and Susanna 22. The John Crosby employed by Jowsey & Co.in the 1780's could
have been William's nephew, son of his sister Mary who married a John Crosby
at Wykeham in 1769. William did not leave a will. A settlement paper, from
Wilton Church Wardens and Overseers of the Poor, dated 19 May 1772 suggests
that William & Susanna with Richard age 3 moved to Wykeham about that time
from Brompton. See Wykeham Abbey Estate Papers.
